About Clare McAuley

Fine artist based in London, working in portraiture, painting, collage and mixed media.

Biography

Clare’s work is driven by observation: how people dress, move, wait and carry their histories through public and private spaces. Her practice moves between commissioned portraits and self-directed work, including people-watching series, street studies and collage.

London is central to her practice, both as subject and setting. It appears through its characters, street life and everyday spaces, from waiting rooms and cafés to public transport.

Askew Road

Shown as part of the Askew Road festival in Shepherd’s Bush, this collection of portraits and studies explores character, place and community.
